Privacy
This website collects nothing. No analytics, no cookies, no fonts or scripts from other hosts, no accounts. The CLI collects nothing either. The only data that leaves your machine is the source fetch you start yourself.
This website
- Every page is a static file. There is no server-side application, no session and no cookie.
- Fonts are the ones your system already has; icons and the mark are inline SVG; the stylesheet is served from this domain.
- The server keeps standard access logs for seven days to operate the site, then deletes them. Logs are used for capacity and error rates, not for profiling readers.
- There is no comment form and no newsletter. Contact happens through the project repository, described on the community page.
The command-line tool
BEP has no telemetry, no update check and no crash reporter. It reads and writes files under the working directory and the cache directory (~/.cache/bep by default). A build writes logs next to the build output; they contain paths from your machine and nothing else. You can delete the cache at any time with bep cache gc --all.
Network access
Only bep fetch uses the network. It runs the source fetch command from your configuration, which is git by default, against the mirror or upstream you name. BEP does not add a remote, does not phone home, and does not resolve any hostname on its own.
Third parties
There are no third-party embeds on this site. The source archive and the patch catalogue are hosted on the same server as these pages. If you build an engine, the engine's own build downloads dependencies according to that project's rules; BEP does not proxy or record those requests.
Questions
Privacy questions go through the project repository like everything else. The maintainer who owns build engineering answers them, and the answer is added to this page when it is not already here. Last reviewed on 2026-10-09 for the 2.8.1 release.
